Hotel Alinari

The two best things about this property are: 1) Location. Shops and great places to eat are right along Alinari Road. The leather street market and the central market are around the corner. I would grab a city bike or scooter and ride to the Duomo or the piazzas, but walking is just fine. 2) The breakfast. It's almost unexpected,or unbalanced,in the sense that you have such a simple room,but when you walk into the breakfast room it's like you're in a luxury boutique hotel. The breakfast has a huge spread of food. They also provide a table full of fruit,espresso,cappuccino and teas. And the view of the rooftops of Firenze while sipping your espresso is a memory you'll hold onto. To be honest,the rooms are just... meh. But they have everything you need. Accept that,because let's be honest,you're only going to sleep there and spend the entire day exploring the city. For the price you pay,it's fair. If you're planning on taking the train or bus to Siena or another city,you're just a five-minute walk to the Santa Maria Novella station. I walked to the bus station (10 minutes because it's behind the train station) from this hotel on my way to Siena. Finally,their check-out time is very strict. I was five minutes late to my room,and the housekeeper had already moved my things to the corner and cleaned everything. I can't be mad because I was late, but it might be something to know if you have valuables left out. Thankfully,they will hold your luggage-so pack up early,leave it with the host and go out and have one last espresso in Piazza della Repubblica.

Pros:\n+ Very friendly service, especially during the breakfast.\n+ One of the best breakfasts we ever had in Italy, especially that in Italy you get just some low quality bread, some jam and yoghurt. It really had everything we could ask for, including veggie options.\n+ Very spacious room (for a family of 4).\n+ Working A/C.\n+ 150m from the main station, mini shopping centre.\n+ Many restaurants and grocery shops nearby, local market with fresh food and great food court just 2-3 mins walk away.\nCons:\n- Very bad internet.\n- TV didn't work (since it's based on Internet TV, look above).\n- Not the best sound insulation of the room door; flooring is made of tiles so you hear everyone outside passing by; carpet would resolve this problem.

Excellent hotel to stay in Florence. Everyone in the hotel are so nice. You can find a lot of things walking distance from the location.

The hotel is located close to the city center and the main train station. We had a very clean room with a shower and a nice view. There was a coffee machine in the room. Another advantage of this hotel is the possibility to leave your luggage before check-in or after check-out. I think this is a good inexpensive hotel option with a good location and very attentive staff.

Though the building is old, the room is quite clean and spacious. The staffs at reception were very kind and took care of me very well. The location is few minutes to the train/tram station. Only the elevator is too small that it can fit only 2-3 people. I sometimes needed to wait or use stairway instead.

Good overall. Problems: Shower cabin was too tiny, could only shower with shower doors open. Building is a bit old, so elevator sometimes got stuck in some floors or took long to come down (but in Florence most buildings are old). A few mosquitoes (but its a city thing).

Very good hotel.

The location couldn't be better, the bedrooms were spacious, quiet and clean. The breakfast was the best thing, with wide options and great service at a good price. The two bad things we considered were the shower which had no curtain and the water splashed outwards and there were no attachments to place our toiletries, which caused us to accidentally throw them in the trash when we left them on the floor.

Expectations were largely exceeded. A wonderfully remodeled hotel, with a spectacular level of cleanliness and the kindest and most helpful staff ever. A wonderful experience by all means.

I scored the best room somehow - it was a single bed but had a patio that was just as large as the entire room! The WiFi was incredible and I was very fortunate given I needed to host a virtual meeting for 85 people while being on camera! The hotel is very easy to get to from the train station. Do not be turned off by the entry with the tiny elevator - it’s worth it! The staff was so kind and showed me to my room. Like most European hotels, it’s small and lots of stairs, so be ready for that anytime you’re in Europe. I love the traditional key even. Sometimes it’s nice not having a credit card key! Very basic amenities but that’s all I needed and expected. The bed was comfortable and had one pillow option which I was skeptical of at first but it was super comfy after all. Definitely worth the 68-ish€ I paid. I felt very secure coming back late after a tour - they have two gates with code access: one at the ground level and another at their entry which is on the 4th floor anyhow! I’d go back again for its convenience, spaciousness, kindness, and overall good place to stay.

Hotel Alinari is a good budget choice near the train station and the city centre. The room is clean and spacious, and located inside a building with lift.

Perfect location right beside the main station, plenty of shops and restaurants around and very near the bus station. 10-minute walkable distance to main attractions in Florence.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Alinari. I traveled solo and my room was perfect for my needs. I had a spectacular view and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. The location is less than a 2 minute walk from the airport tram and also very close to the rail station. It was also easy to walk to any of the major attractions. Breakfast was delicious and healthy. I will stay there again when I return!

Family-run small hotel near the train station, great breakfast, friendly people. In the building there are several hotels on multiple floors, elevator available. I liked that Alinari is at the top, beautiful view from the cozy breakfast room. Rooms nothing special, but completely okay, as you are only there at night in a city like Florence.

I had doubts because I read some bad reviews and when I arrived I realized that it didn't deserve those comments at all. We stayed in a 4-person room. Excellent, the bathroom and the room were completely new and modern. The air conditioning worked perfectly. We even had a coffee maker with teas, biscuits and jam, and a mini fridge. The breakfast was a 10, buffet style with everything you could want: juice, pastries, coffee, cereals, fruit, nuts... And 2 minutes from the train station.

I stayed at the hotel for four nights. Strategic location,just a short walk from the station (bear in mind that in the evening,after a certain hour,the area changes a bit),and also ten minutes from Santa Maria del Fiore. The staff were very welcoming. Special compliments for the breakfast buffet and the kindness of the ladies who prepared it: it was the first time they brought plates of fresh and cooked fruit to my table. Value for money,for a city as expensive as Florence,I would say more than good. The only downside of the stay was that the shower in my bathroom was really small. I could hardly move to wash myself,because the space was so tight. I would gladly come back.

We stayed at this hotel just a 10-minute walk from the Duomo square and very close to the station. We felt quite good. Excellent breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff.

Friendly and helpful managers in everything, both for basic needs and for extra requests like keeping luggage at the property after checkout, which is not common in all hotels. Historic building but very modern inside where renovation is possible. High price but justifiable being in the center of Florence, very close to the SMN station.

Very close to the station and 2 steps from the city center. Perfect cleanliness. Very kind and caring staff. Our room (for 4 beds) overlooked the internal courtyard. Very quiet despite being practically in the center. We slept very well, comfortable beds. There was a refrigerator, coffee machine, and some snacks, a bottle of water (thank you, we really appreciated it). Courtesy set (shower gel, soap). I would only add some hangers in the bathroom for the towels, but really everything was perfect. Very hot water, large shower. The room is not very big but adequate (not claustrophobic as often happens in hotels). It is not exactly cheap but has an excellent value for money (considering that it is in the center of Florence). Breakfast was really good and had a wide choice (proportional to the price paid). Even though I didn't use it, I noticed that there was a wide selection of teas and herbal teas. We found bread, toast, small filled rolls, croissants, Nutella, jam, yogurt, different types of muesli, fresh and canned fruit, fruit salad, eggs in all ways (even crepes if desired). 3/4 types of fruit juices, sparkling and still water. At the table, we were served coffee/cappuccino/milk, they came by twice to ask if we wanted anything. I didn't notice any cold cuts, but I believe that if we had asked for them, they would have brought them to us. For the price paid, breakfast is really great. They asked us if we needed to leave our luggage after check-out. When I return to Florence, I will stay with you again. Thank you for your kindness.

We stayed for just one night in this hotel. Central location from which the points of interest of the city are easily reachable, just a stone's throw from the central station. Excellent welcome, friendly and attentive staff. The manager allowed us to leave our backpacks even on the check-out day, to walk around comfortably. We didn't have breakfast. Clean and tidy room. If I had to return to Florence, I would choose this hotel again.

We will return, great courtesy! Top breakfast, sweet and savory at will! Close to the station with the possibility to leave the luggage. Very kind staff. Rooms are outdated and need fixing, but they are compliant with the price paid.

In a strategic position, practically a stone's throw from Santa Maria Novella Station, just 5 minutes from the historic center of Florence. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious enough, the staff is very kind and professional, and the breakfast is ample and pleasant. Surely the strong point is the proximity to the historic center, which can be reached on foot in a few minutes. Highly recommended!

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station and the homonymous church. In front, there is a Conad City supermarket and a few steps away several fast-food restaurants and bars. Located on the fourth floor of a historic building, it is accessed through a spacious elevator. The welcome was very warm as well as the availability. The room is lovely, very clean, and quite spacious. The bathroom was impeccable and with all the necessary items for personal hygiene.

Great hotel location, 2 minutes from the station and 5 minutes from the center. Friendly and helpful staff. I asked to change a pillow and they did it without any problems, finding it in the room the same day after cleaning. A small but cozy room that I always found clean and tidy. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

The structure is located on the fourth floor of a building near the station and unfortunately the elevator is small. This is, however, the only flaw of Hotel Alinari. 4-bed room spacious and very clean, with a bathroom accessories supply that I have never even found in 4-star hotels. Our room even had a bathroom with a window and modern furniture with neutral colors as we like. Perhaps the mattresses are a bit too hard, but it's difficult for me to find them as soft as we like. Excellent experience, even with the staff, not very talkative but very kind.

Despite the heat, I slept well in a room, albeit small, that faced the inside of the building. The property is located near Santa Maria Novella station. The structure has a beautiful terrace where you can have breakfast with a view.

I happened to stay at the Hotel Alinari during the Firenze Rock event, I had a great time, excellent facility.

I must say that we had a really good time and everyone was more than kind and helpful.

Excellent hotel located a stone's throw from the train station and very close to the historic center of the city, easily reachable on foot. Maximum availability from Cristiano and all the staff who always tried to meet every need, especially during breakfast which was already complete with fresh and varied products, from sweet to savory and fruit. The hotel has an adequate structure and great hospitality. As for the rooms, they are very welcoming and met my liking. The hospitality and friendliness of the staff framed a unique overnight stay and a splendid breakfast.

The hotel's location is perfect for exploring Florence on foot, both the historic center and the central station are a stone's throw away. The staff is very kind and helpful, there is a great breakfast and the room is very comfortable.

A one-night stay was enough to understand that Hotel Alinari is top-notch. Reception, cleanliness, and services all perfect. And this just a stone's throw from Florence's most characteristic monuments.

Hotel located near Santa Maria Novella station but above all 5 minutes walk from the center of Florence! Being located on the 4th floor (with elevator), there is no risk of being disturbed by noises. Modern, spacious and very clean environments (daily cleaning!) equipped with a refrigerator and TV. The impeccable and abundant international breakfast was the cherry on top of our stay. There is no parking, but the structure has an agreement with a garage that picks up and returns the car at any time, very professionally. Highly recommend!

We couldn't have asked for more. The staff is always very helpful and kind. The room was spacious, with details that made the stay even more enjoyable, but most importantly, spotless. They were truly impeccable on cleanliness. Another plus point is the location of Hotel Alinari. Very close to the station, behind the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella and a five-minute walk from the Duomo. Parking lots and shops of all kinds around the hotel. We were also provided with a code to re-enter in the evening at any time, but we always found someone ready to welcome us and provide assistance if needed. A totally carefree stay, they managed everything wonderfully, making us feel pampered and at home. I will recommend it to everyone, it really deserves it.

I felt pampered right away, it's as if I were in a familiar environment thanks to the entire staff. The cherry on top was also the abundant breakfast with a truly beautiful view. Highly recommended. I will return.

Very convenient location, especially for those arriving by train and with lots of luggage. Two minutes from the station and a short walk from the center, the Central Market with its food stands is 300 meters away. Courteous and attentive manager, very kind service staff. Breakfast on the terrace with a view of the dome and bell tower is a must. Advice, ask for a room with a renovated bathroom, not all have it (but they replaced ours, another plus). Highly recommended.

Everything great, the structure, the possibility of checking in at any time thanks to the presence of a caretaker, the location. Clean bathrooms provided with all necessary accessories, including slippers and toothbrushes. Good buffet breakfast - few salty choices - delicious croissants and the option to have a platter with cold cuts. Very friendly staff.

We stayed for just one night, during a weekend in Florence. The location is great, in a few minutes you can reach both the train station and the city center. The managers are extremely kind, you can immediately tell that they do their best to make you feel at home and not miss anything. Despite the covid restrictions on buffets, breakfast was spectacular, we were offered everything and more! Additionally, you can eat on the outdoor terrace overlooking the city! We also received a gift upon departure and were able to leave our luggage at the reception to go to the Accademia Gallery without any problems. The only detail that disappointed me is that there were no blankets in the room, only a sheet and a bedspread on the bed... understandable considering the temperatures but I get cold easily! However, overall a great experience, highly recommend it to those who want affordable yet excellent accommodation to explore the city on foot! Thanks to Romina and Cristiano!

The structure is beautiful, very close to the station, just two minutes from all the most important monuments. The bathroom and room are new and very spacious, everything is really very clean and tidy. The managers are friendly and kind, making you feel comfortable. I have been a guest at Hotel Alinari very recently. The location is excellent for those who want to stay near S. Maria Novella station without moving far from the center. The owner is very attentive to the customer's needs, the room is spacious, very clean, and equipped with every comfort. The staff is kind and helpful. I highly recommend it and hope to come back.

Very clean, superior level room. \nPractically in the center of Florence, adjacent to Santa Maria Novella station. \nThe staff is fantastic and made us feel at home, they didn't just host us, they pampered us. \nThey provided us with important directions and suggestions for lunch and dinner. We will definitely come back, if only to see them in person. \nHighly recommended.
