I loved my stay at Porta Catena. It's located in the historic center, close to all the interesting places to see and eat. The property itself was very nice and cozy and I loved the balcony. Mrs. Rosa, the host, is super nice. I fell in love with the city and the place. Thank you very much.

We really enjoyed our stay at the B&B. Rosa is lovely and very sweet. She and her son helped us so much during our first time in Salerno. They were both very gracious and patient with our language barrier. The place was very charming and perfect for our stay.

Very nice and affordable B&B. Rosa and her son were the sweetest. Our room was spacious, clean and had a lovely small balcony. The location is very convenient for visiting the Amalfi Coast and Salerno is an amazing city as well. Highly recommended.

A centrally located place to stay. My room was at the back and large and clean. The shower is small but okay for myself. As far as I know, you need to call or WhatsApp the host to let you in. Leave the keys on the desk in your room when checking out.

Host was not available at arrival and didn't answer the phone. We tried several times, even with the help of neighbors, to get checked in. At least we managed to get in. The room and the balcony were nice. The breakfast was very bad. Only some prepacked industrial prepared soft spongy bread and croissant. No cheese or ham or tomato.

Porta Catena is in the 'centro storico' of Salerno, on a quiet street. After check-in, we were provided a key; from that point on, we were able to come and go as we liked. The bathroom was tiny, but that is to be expected in a historic palazzo. The bed was very comfortable and we had a wonderful little balcony that overlooked the piazza below. (It was a bit too chilly to spend much time sitting there, unfortunately.) A plethora of restaurants are a short stroll away and the seafront is nearby. While it's on the opposite end of town from the train station - a good 20-minute walk - frequent buses pass along the main viale a block away. The wi-fi was super-fast. Breakfast was 'serve yourself' of a wide variety of breakfast cereals, yogurt, and packaged cookies and brioche. When we're next in Salerno, we will definitely stay at B&B Porta Catena.

Everything was very good, the beds were very comfortable. Excellent attention from Rosa. Lots of variety for breakfast, but for those of us who drink mate, there was no electric kettle, but that doesn’t spoil the beautiful stay.

I gave one point less for the accommodation only because it does not have an elevator. Everything else is excellent. Special mention to Feliciano who made us feel at home. Again EXCELLENT! It is located in the historic center, in a pedestrian street, it has a lot of charm.

Gentile Isabel Porres, La ringraziamo per la sua recensione, anche se ci dispiace che non sia rimasta soddisfatta della sua esperienza. Vorremmo però chiarire quanto accaduto, per offrire a chi ci legge una visione completa della situazione. Quando ci ha chiesto di lasciare i bagagli oltre l’orario di check-out, siamo stati felici di poterle offrire una soluzione. Le avevamo proposto di sistemare i bagagli in un angolo della camera e lasciare le chiavi alla porta, informandola che la domestica sarebbe stata disponibile a riceverla in struttura alle 17: 00 per il ritiro bagagli. Nonostante ciò, ci ha fatto sapere di non sentirsi tranquilla e ha preferito portare le chiavi con sé, cosa che purtroppo non potevamo consentire perché sarebbero servite per il check-in successivo. Per cercare di venirle incontro, mia madre prese un treno appositamente per consegnarle un mazzo di chiavi di riserva, ma purtroppo la soluzione non è stata accettata. Ci tengo a precisare che noi essendo un umile b&b non abbiamo un servizio di deposito bagagli ma comprendiamo che può essere scomodo non potere lasciare le valigie oltre il check-out quindi cerchiamo sempre di fare il possibile per venire incontro alle richieste dei nostri ospiti, ma per garantire a tutti un servizio di qualità, dobbiamo anche rispettare alcune regole operative. Ci impegniamo sempre a fare il possibile per garantire un soggiorno piacevole ai nostri ospiti, ma in questo caso dovevamo rispettare anche le esigenze degli altri clienti. Ci dispiace che, nonostante i nostri sforzi, la sua esperienza non sia stata all’altezza delle aspettative, e speriamo di poterla accogliere nuovamente in futuro per farle cambiare opinione. It exceeded my expectations by a lot. Porta Catena is a beautiful space in line with the historic center of beautiful Salerno. Its location is unbeatable, close to the port to catch ferries to the entire coast. The room is lovely and so comfortable that it even has a nice little balcony overlooking the street, from which I see the beautiful streets. And its owner, Rosa, has been the best host I have ever had in my life! She is a wonderful person, kind, sociable, and supportive, and she could also be a great friend! My stay at the B&B was fantastic, also thanks to her! I hope I can return!

Our 4-night stay was very good. The room has a private bathroom and a beautiful balcony, perfect for breakfast or enjoying something in the evening. The host, Rosa, is lovely. Very kind and helpful, always making sure we are comfortable in her home. For breakfast, we had coffee, milk, yogurt, cereals, toast, and cookies at our complete disposal, which was very generous and much appreciated. The location is very good, close to the waterfront and one of the ports. The view from the balcony is very nice. I recommend it.

Excellent B&B, spacious rooms. The staff and owners are kind and very helpful. They allowed me to leave my luggage and pick it up shortly before departure, which was in the late afternoon, since check-out is at 10. Breakfast is self-service in the house, but there is everything: a coffee machine with capsules, yogurts and mousses of every flavor, juices, etc. I also recommend it for the location: it is very well connected by various buses to and from the train station and is very close to the center and the seafront. The only thing that maybe could be improved is the bathroom, which is a bit old-fashioned but functional and clean.

We stayed in this structure to see the lights of Salerno. The location is excellent. We were in the historic center and we parked the car in the blue lines. We were two adults and two children. The room was a bit small. A triple with an extra bed. We had free access to the kitchen provided with everything for breakfast with packaged products but for all tastes. Cleanliness was average.

Excellent location in the historic center and a short walk from the seafront and the main historical attractions. Mrs. Rosa is very helpful and kind. The bathroom in the room is a bit small but clean.

Great experience! We had a great time in this bed and breakfast in the historic center of Salerno. Very nice structure, which allowed us to walk around the historic center and the waterfront comfortably. We will be back.

Central structure in the heart of old Salerno, close to the promenade and with many places to eat or drink. The room is not very large, but equipped with a large wardrobe since there are not many supports for clothes. Very small bathroom but equipped with everything, here too there is not much space to put bath products or make-up. The breakfast offers a lot of choices, but there are no fresh products and you are asked to wash the dishes you use.

We were greeted by the very kind Lady who was helpful and friendly; the room was very beautiful, well-kept, and clean, in a central and lively area. The location is perfect for those who want to visit the city, with the possibility of parking for free in a nearby area. A stone's throw from the seafront and the main areas of interest, with many restaurants and bars nearby. The apartment is well-maintained and equipped with every comfort, with the possibility of using the fridge and having breakfast with the things provided by Mrs. Rosa. Highly recommended for those who want to visit the city and have a lovely space to rest.

Dear Nicholas. First of all, I want to clarify that what I have expressed about my stay is separate from the genuine empathy I felt towards your mother and towards Mrs. Felicetta. Nothing to say about that! Let's distinguish the two aspects: the personal relationship and the "business" relationship. I didn't contact you because, honestly, it didn't come to my mind! I realize now that I was wrong, because indeed, you are the manager. I requested to pay with the debit card both to Mrs. Felicetta (when I paid for my first night) and to your mother (when I paid for the three nights). I didn't think to call you because, at that moment, my interlocutors were the two ladies and I had no other options: I had to and wanted to pay, so I organized myself by going to withdraw cash. When I received the request for a review, it was spontaneous for me to highlight this because, even in my daily life, I always pay by card, even for small expenses; it's a matter of habit. The breakfast, according to my habits, although offering several things, was not as I expect it from a facility that provides it. I hope I have clarified my point of view (which, I understand, is different from yours, considering that we have different roles). Best regards ML.

Gentile Mariacristina noi accettiamo tutti i tipi di pagamento mi fa strano questa osservazione d’altronde non c’è mai stata un interesse di contattare il sottoscritto. Per quanto riguarda il resto, mia mamma è meravigliata di tutto ciò, in primis per i complimenti da lei fatti sulla posizione della struttura, per gli ottimi consigli su dove mangiare qualcosina di buono e inoltre si era creato anche una bella sinergia, le aveva anche comunicato che partiva per la Sicilia a trovare le nipotine. È proprio per questo motivo vorrebbe sapere se è successo qualcosa durante la sua assenza. Inoltre ricordo che siamo l’unico b&b che non fa pagare il singolo per intero (x2 pp). Nice facility with spacious, bright, and comfortable rooms, very kind manager, excellent location in the heart of the historic center of Salerno, an area rich in bars for aperitifs, lunches, and dinners. Very close to bus stops to visit the Amalfi Coast. I had a great time, highly recommended.

Beautiful property with rooms decorated with love, I especially liked it for the location and for the en-suite bathroom which I never find in B&Bs. Mrs. Rosa is very hospitable and kind, available for any need and very friendly. I had a great time also because I didn't find any inconvenience neither for the hot water, nor for the air conditioning, nor for the TV channels. I visited the city without taking any means of transport since everything is nearby. A beautiful experience and I will definitely come back and spread the word around.

The accommodation is unique, a historic building and accommodation. The room is beautiful, well equipped, the bathroom is functional. Fely was wonderful, she welcomed us warmly and showed us everything about the accommodation. The breakfast is plentiful, everything is available in the kitchen. A selection of Italian pastries, yogurts, juices, and coffee. We will certainly return!

The welcoming and kind host, cleanliness upon arrival, clean towels and linens. Very well located in the historic center, close to the center, the port, the train station... etc. Small but spacious rooms, equipped kitchen but cooking is prohibited, the ventilation from the bathroom actually went into the room. We had a big surprise when we found out that there is another room in this apartment where a lady member of the family permanently lives with her cat. We were accommodated for 7 nights in this guesthouse and no cleaning was done at all during this time, moreover we were asked to keep the cleanliness ourselves. On the 4th day we were given 2 clean towels upon our request.
