Our International breakfast (available on demand with a small surcharge) consists of eggs, cold cuts and cheeses selected from our regional specialties. Obviously we’ll do our best in order to satisfy our guests’ specific food requirements.

I really enjoyed my stay at Michela's. The welcome was very warm. I booked a room for one person. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The accommodation is very well located, I was able to do all the visits on foot. Every morning, Michela prepared a breakfast suited to my personal tastes that I could enjoy on the covered terrace (loggia).

I stayed 2 nights at B&B Il Picchiolino and the stay was perfect. Michela was very welcoming and showed great availability. Especially after informing her of my early arrival just 1 hour before! Michela is also easily reachable by message. She gave great advice by suggesting I hire a guide to visit the city. And I absolutely did not regret it! Her accommodation is slightly off-center yet very close to the center. The only noise from the street is the song of the cicadas. I arrived by bus and left by train, everything is easy and close. Matera is a very beautiful city and thanks to Michela, I had a wonderful stay. The room was very clean, very good breakfast.

Many thanks to Michela. For the welcome that makes you feel at home, her availability and the generous abundance of advice that were truly useful to me as I was visiting Matera for the first time. It is a reflection of the great passion she puts into her work. It is also evident in the care and absolute cleanliness present throughout her B&B. It is in a strategic location: a short walk from the Sassi and from Via Vittorio Veneto and everything is visitable on foot. I stayed for two nights in the single room and it is cozy, bright and quiet. It also has a small veranda where, if desired, you can have breakfast. The breakfast is good and plentiful with local products. I definitely recommend the property.

B&B Il Picchiolino is located in a residential area, quiet and a few minutes walk from the main square of Matera and the Sassi. The single room is well-kept and welcoming. The cleanliness is excellent. Michela was very helpful with everything related to the stay: from the check-in time, to the possibility of leaving the luggage at the end of the stay, to all the advice she gave me to visit the city. Breakfast is simple but plentiful; Michela also prepared a delicious brisa for me. I felt welcomed and very comfortable; I recommend it and would definitely stay here again!

I stayed two nights at B&B Il Picchiolino run by Michela and it was a great stay. Michela is a friendly, welcoming, and helpful host, in fact, she provided me with a map with all the useful and necessary directions and also recommended the lesser-known attractions to see. I stayed at B&B Il Picchiolino for a couple of nights, I immediately noticed a special attention to the guest: rich breakfast, impeccable cleanliness, quality linen! The small veranda is a pleasant corner, the bathroom is large, comfortable and the shower just as good. Michela is fantastic, discreet and attentive to the guests' needs. Strategic location for the center and parking. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Apartment located in an optimal area if arriving in Matera by car: there are parking spaces available along the street in front of the property and moreover it is close to the historic center, easily reachable on foot in 5 minutes. We stayed at B&B Il Picchiolino from July 23rd to 26th, 2020. I would say the structure is in a great location to visit the city and especially the 'sassi', and it is also close to the bus station. The owner Michela was very good at giving us the right directions on schedules and places to visit, and then she really made us feel at ease. Thank you Michela... B&B absolutely recommended.

We stayed at this property for two nights and had a great time. The room is equipped with everything you need, abundant breakfast, and an excellent location 300 meters from the 'sassi' and the train and bus station. A special note goes to Michela, the owner, who was wonderful, full of advice and attention, made us feel at home.

For those who wish to visit the wonderful city of Matera, I highly recommend this bed and breakfast! It is located in a great central location, a five-minute walk from both the train and bus station (for those, like me, traveling by public transport), and from the spectacular Sassi. The owner, Michela, is truly kind, friendly, and welcoming. The single room where I stayed is very beautiful, spacious, modern, very clean, and overlooks a lovely veranda with a small table where you can enjoy a delicious and abundant breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended.

Michela, the owner, is really a nice person, with whom I had the opportunity to talk and receive a lot of information about Matera. She is very prepared and helpful. She cares a lot about her work and the respect for her guests. I stayed in the single room and I must say I slept divinely. Everything is very clean and the furnishings are brand new. The room is quiet and airy (there is also a veranda), the bathroom is quite large and comfortable in its functions. Excellent and abundant breakfast. A few minutes walk from the center. Free public parking in the area.

B&B Il Picchiolino by Michela is in a great location, just a few minutes from the center of Matera. Michela is very friendly and you will find in her a friend and a perfect promoter of the beauties of her city. The breakfast is among the best I have tried in some of the B&Bs I visited during my trip to Italy (Dec 2018 - Jan 2019).

Always fresh croissants for breakfast and exceptional jams, comfortable bed and very clean and brand new structure. Very close to the historic center where you can walk in less than 2 minutes. B&B located in a great position, a stone's throw from the main square, the Sassi, restaurants, and all facilities. No parking issues. We were in Matera for a vacation and a conference and the B&B Il Picchiolino was the ideal solution in terms of location, not having a car, as it is close to the Sassi di Matera, but also a stone's throw from the conference facilities, as well as close to the central station. As for the atmosphere, we immediately felt 'at home', thanks to Michela's friendliness and welcome, but above all for her availability. How nice to wake up in the morning with the scent of freshly baked croissants and have breakfast with Michela's delicious jams!
