Our B&B is located at Siena art city, in an area of great archaeological and architectural merit, in the historic heart of the city. "Antica Residenza Cicogna" is a prestigious dwelling to conjure up the thrill of the past, a residence with unique, original style, a building of the past where the magic of history blends with modern amenities.

I honestly don’t know how anyone gave this hotel a 5-star rating. The staff was excellent and the location is great, but you need to know you’re basically staying at my grandma’s house in the early 1970s. Not just because of the thin gold bedspread on a four-inch-thick, stiff, old mattress, but also because of the smell, the itchy sheets, the flat rock-hard pillows, and the tiny shower. Seriously, the shower in our suite was smaller than the one in our 25-foot RV. If this hotel would just invest in new mattresses, sheets, pillows, and comforters, the rest of the antique furniture and vintage vibe would actually be charming. Even the tiny shower would be forgivable if we’d had a good night’s sleep. Also, be aware the room faces a fairly noisy street, so don’t plan on opening the windows for fresh air. And for some reason our AC stopped working on the second night. Bottom line: call before you book. With any luck, they’ll have updated the sleeping situation and handled the “grandma” smell, then it could really be a great place to stay.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Cicogna. The building was amazing and the family history made it feel special. Elisa, the host, was very welcoming and helpful. There were thoughtful details, the breakfast was delicious, the wall and ceiling paintings in our room were spectacular, and it was in a very convenient location for exploring Siena on foot. Ten stars from us.

I recently had a great stay at this charming B&B. The location of the hotel is great for access to the main sights and also the bus station. Surrounded by great restaurants to eat at too. Lovely clean and spacious rooms with good sound proofing. The hosts were very helpful throughout my stay. Looking forward to returning in May. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Antica Residenza Cicogna is a charming property with lovely hosts. I stayed in the Liberty Room and enjoyed quiet nights with good sleep. The renovations to this old mansion are stylish while bringing in the modern conveniences of great plumbing, wifi, and air conditioning. There are no elevators in this building, so be sure you are good with stairs. This is a fabulous location in the old town, walkable to the main sites of old Siena. And I can't say enough about the hosts, who made me feel very welcome.

Great location, pretty and historical. Not particularly luxurious; shower was not good, bed had only one flat pillow per person, and parking was stressful because GPS doesn't work around the area. But, we didn't pick it for luxury and quiet. We picked it to enjoy a historic stay close to everything. :) The hostess was kind and gracious.

Antica Residenza Cicogna was INCREDIBLE. Eliza, the owner/operator, treated my wife and me like family. From calling taxis to helping us learn the historical town of Siena, Elisa played an important role in us having a perfect visit. The facilities were beautiful, clean, and located in the center within walking distance of every sight. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Lovely property. Close to the center with an easy 10 euro cab ride from the train station. The host was very courteous and helpful throughout. We were on the top floor off the main drag, so it was very quiet. Hot water was slow during our visit, but the host seemed sincere about getting it sorted once we left.

Charming rooms, well located, and helpful host. One drawback is that the WIFI was sporadic, but it was a minor issue. Definitely a good value for the room price and a very nice breakfast in a lovely dining room. Try to get out to see the farmland, vineyards, and olive orchards of Tuscany. We did a tour which included a winery visit and farm to table meal, and it was worth it! Not too far from the bus station which helps when traveling.

A beautiful property and quite central to everything you need. The ladies were very helpful and friendly. There are lots of restaurants in the area and we were given a list to help us in our choice. We loved the painted ceiling in our room. If you close the windows at night they block out all the sound of tourists, church bells and cars.

We spent a great holiday in Siena. The B&B is close to the center (5 minutes walk to the Palazzo Pubblico). The hosts are really nice and available. And if you are lucky, you will see some events like Saint Catherine's day, with all the contrada's flag in the streets.

Antica Residenza Cicogna has been beautifully restored, very close to Piazza del Campo yet the neighborhood was quiet at night. Elisa and the staff were very pleasant and courteous. The breakfast spread had a large variety of items and was delicious, especially the cappuccinos.

My husband and I were delighted with the Antica Residenza Cicogna. We would love to return. It was in a perfect location for exploring Siena on foot. Family-run accommodation where attention to guests is excellent. The entire residence retains the charm of the old and has a good location. The photo of the proposed room does not match the one assigned. The bathroom needs maintenance for the shower head. The teapot is encrusted with limescale. The structure is not suitable for the elderly and disabled. It is not very convenient to reach with luggage, as it is located in the historic center, far from parking lots, which are mostly small and mostly paid at certainly not very convenient prices.

The location of the property is strategic, not far from Piazza del Campo. A 10-minute walk away you can find a couple of free parking lots. Friendly and helpful staff, possibility to enter the rooms at any time for access with a pin code at the entrance, which is useful and not taken for granted for a property, small economy rooms but equipped with all necessary comforts, impeccable cleanliness. The only flaws: I would leave the windows of the internal corridors open in the structure to ventilate the environments, upon our arrival the interior had a musty smell, I would add more fresh products to the breakfast buffet, we did not use the service but the quantity of packaged industrial products was visible.

The palace is located right in the center and is therefore extraordinarily convenient. Even parking is not a problem, as you can leave your car outside the walls (10 minutes on foot from Antica Residenza Cicogna) in a large free parking area, yet it is possible to drive up to the door to unload luggage. The 'suite' (a bedroom and another entrance room with a bed) is well-kept, spacious, and very clean, the bathroom is small but equipped with everything needed. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, it was not possible to have breakfast inside the facility. In any case, Antica Residenza Cicogna is highly recommended, also for the kindness and availability of Elisa, an impeccable host.

The structure is beautiful, room in Florentine style with clean and new bathroom. Very kind and welcoming staff. The location is excellent as it's in the historic center and only a 10-minute walk from parking outside the walls. Breakfast at the bar next to the Antica Residenza Cicogna (a sweet or savory pastry), a beverage (coffee, cappuccino, or fruit juice). The only downside is the wifi working intermittently.

We stayed at this property for two nights. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to recommend it. In the days leading up to our stay, Elisa was extremely kind and provided us with all the necessary information. The location is truly unique, very close to the center and Piazza del Campo and not far from the parking lots. The building is truly spectacular and I believe that alone deserves an excellent rating. I was only disappointed that due to Covid, breakfast is offered at the adjacent bar. A very good solution with a choice between sweet and savory, but I would have liked to have breakfast inside the property. Nevertheless, a truly excellent property and if I return to Siena, I will definitely stay at this wonderful property again.

Excellent welcome and maximum courtesy. Being in a very central area and therefore not accessible by car, we were still able to unload our luggage in front of this splendid residence and parked the car a few minutes away. Excellent value for money. My family and I were guests of Elisa for 2 nights and we felt so good that we decided to stay for the third night as well. The house is a real historic residence, renovated in every detail: the frescoes on the walls and ceilings, the ancient floors, and a careful eye also on the comforts. It is right in the center and convenient for everything you want to visit: the fantastic soundproof windows ensure a restful sleep, as do the mattresses, and what about Elisa and her collaborators: they definitely make the difference compared to other facilities. We highly recommend it.

We spent the period between December 29 and January 2 in this splendid bed and breakfast located in the center of Siena. The structure is simply stunning (it is an ancient house finely renovated) and the room is very pleasant. We appreciated the kindness and availability of the two sisters who manage the Antica Residenza Cicogna. The location is excellent (a few hundred meters from Piazza del Campo). Highly recommended.

Antica Residenza Cicogna was the perfect place for an unforgettable weekend in Siena. Very central, a stone's throw from the main street, it is located in a historic residence with stylish furnishings without sacrificing comfort. My room was a green dream with a canopy bed and frescoed walls; the private bathroom was delightful and well-stocked. An adjacent common room is available to guests for self-service tea or cantucci with vinsanto. The buffet breakfast offers a wide selection of sweet and savory items, as well as fruit, yogurt, and cereals; plus, the extremely kind staff prepared us a great soy cappuccino. Not to be overlooked: we slept like babies.

Very nice B&B in the center of a beautiful Siena. Extremely kind, helpful, and friendly people. What can I say? We had a great time. A gem: in a nearby street, there is a little jazz bar where music plays until late with open doors. Even though we could hardly hear it from our very close room, earplug packs were provided. Water, tea, vin santo, and cantuccini always available in the lounge. Anna Maria and Piero.

Comfortable, central, very clean structure. Large and comfortable room, the owner, Mrs. Elisa, is available and courteous. Full breakfast, what more could you ask for? We will return.

Great hotel, an ancient palace turned into a B&B with frescoed ceilings, very spacious rooms, very clean, special attention. Breakfast is a bit basic, but with all the essentials. There is a common room where you can have coffee, a wide variety of teas, water, cantucci, and vin santo. The location is excellent. I recommend without a doubt.

It is a high-level B&B, with excellent services, from reception to breakfast. Perfectly positioned to visit the Duomo and Piazza del Campo.

Great B&B located in the center of Siena, clean and with cozy rooms. Adequate shower in the bathroom. Excellent breakfast, better than some hotels. Recommended.

Great location, breakfast and good hospitality. Unfortunately, the street noise until late at night disturbed our well-deserved sleep and the bed is nice but small for people over 1.90 meters tall.

Excellent location in the city center, but at the same time quiet (even parallel to the elegant Banchi di sopra, the beating heart of the city). Impeccable cleanliness, courtesy, and absolute availability, the lovely Ms. Elisa is always punctual and available. A truly pleasant stay and definitely worthy of a return. No negative notes.
